FRESH OUTBREAK OF FIGHTING IN HONAN.

CURIOUS WUHU INCIDENT.

While there is much speculation as to the prospects of an early end of the Chinese civil war, news comes from Hankow that there has been a fresh outbreak of fighting on the Honan front and that large numbers of wounded Nationalist soldiers gre arriving at lankow. The casualties are said to have been heavy. Regarding the likelihood of peace, it is said that an important conference is about to take place at Chengehow and that, in view of the stipulation made by Marshal Chang Tso-fin regarding the expulsion of all Russians before he would consent in peace. the arrest of Borodin and other Russians has been ordered.

The situation in Hankow itself has very much improved, there being no.open anti-foreignism. Britishers have now left the boats in which they were living on the river and are back on shore. The slow, progress of General Yang Sen down river towards Hankow is still reported.

From Canton it is reported that an important movement is on foot for re-uniting the Kuomintang by the inclusion of those elder leaders who left the party after the death of the Inte Dr. Sun Yat-sen because of the growing Soviet influence. The Nanking party has invited this group to amalgamate with them.

Former Leaders Invited to Nanking.

Canton, June 7. That all "honest" Kuomintang members should be invited bnek to participate in the Nationalist movement, is the latest polley of the present Kuomintang regime.
