CELTIC CROSS NEAR ARRAS.

A memorial, erected by the Sea- forth Highlanders in remembrance of their comrades who fell in the Great War, and situated about half a mile N.E. of the village of Fam- poux and about 3% miles from Arras, was to be unveiled" by Major-General Sir Colin J. Mac- kenize, K.C.B., Colonel of the re- giment, on Sunday, 22nd May.

It is in the form of a Celtic Cross, similar to that erected by the regiment at Dingwall in mem- ory of those who fell in South Africa. It is made of Brittany grey granite, 19 feet 10 inches in height, and stands on a cairn of rough dark. (Soignics) granite stones, the total height being 24 fect 8 inches. The cross is en- graved with Runic scrolls and or namentation, and shows the crest of the regiment. On the lower plinth is engraved the inscription "In Memory of the Officers, War- rant Officers, Nen-Commissioned Officers, and Private" Soldiers of the Seaforth Highlanders, Ross shire Buffs, the Duke of Albany's, who gave their Lives for their King and. Country in the Great War. 1914-1913." The Cross stands in
