Ho thought everyone would agree that the Club badly needed additional accommodation.
As regards finance, the Club was in a sound position. Their liabi- Hity on debentures was only $1,500 per annum, and they had been paying them off at the rate of $5,000 per annum. At the bank they had over $10,000 on fixed de- posit and over $5,000 on current Account,

As regards the alterations which Mr. Sayer had criticised, he thought that having employed an suggest the best architect to means of making improvements, it seemed a pity to reject his re- commendations.
The bank had agreed to grant an overdraft to cover the cost of the reconstruction of the premises, and Mr. Pearce thought that it was an opportunity which should be taken. The membership had increased 15 per cent. since 1923, and the notice board indicated that the figure of 499 in January, Mr. E. W. In conclusion, Mr. Pearce re- peated that the meeting was an informal one called for the pur- pose of testing the feeling of the members. The Committee thought that the scheme was Ona with

Economy Urged.
Mr. G. R. Sayer said that he thought additional accommodation was necessary and he was pre- pared to go as far as he could with the Committee. Nevertheless the members were bound to ask a few questions. Firegt, were funds avail able for the work, or could they be made available, second, were the proposals as economical as they might be, and thirdly, were they providing the accommodation they immediately needed..
Do Job Thoroughly.
Mr. E. E. C. Hornell hoped they would not quibble about cost. If the Club intended to extend at all, let them do the job thoroughly, so that the question would not arise again for a considerable number of years.
The meeting unanimously decid- ed that an extraordinary general meeting of the Club should be called for June 10th, when the whole matter will be discussed in connexion with a resolution.
