The final contests in the V.RL.C. amateur boxing competition wer staged on Saturday night when the novices provided many teresting contests. The one dig appointing feature of the competi- tions was the calourless fight be tween Leading Seaman Baker and Seaman Hall. This was billed as a special ten round contest, bat proved a tame affair. The men sparred and tapped fightly until the referee mentioned that actio and not sparring was desirah! Results of the novier were as follow:

Tot- tenham Hotspur were defeated by Tour eteur goals before their supporters by the Arsenal, Newcastle suffered defeat at Leicester, Notts Forest lost at home to Port Vale, Clapton Orient avoided relegation by defeating Reading at Reading. Two Northern teams, Bradford City and Darlington are relegated from the Serond Division, their places being taken by Stoke City and Bristol City.

Aberdare and Watford in Division III (South) and Accrington and Barrow in Division III (North)' will nevd to geck re-electon.

Plymouth Argyle were runners-up for the sixth consecutive season in the Southern Section.
