A LOCAL DEMONSTRATION.

On Thursday, April 28th., 1927 the car shown in the pictures on this page, was driven round the Island of Hong Kong accompanied by a representativo of The Hongkong Telegraph. A special tank was attached, and into this ONE GALLON of gasoline was poured. After the Island had been encircled, it was necessary to drive further in order to drain the tank dry, when the spaudometer was found to register 26.25 miles to the gallon. Every hill was negotiated on top gear without any sign of effort. The car was stopped and manoeuvred on, two occasions for the purpose of taking photographs.

Close-up of the power plant of the Erskine 6, the "cut-away" showing the small piston displacement. It is an L-head type of motor, with a 2 5-8 inch bore, a 4 1-2 inch stroke and a total displacement of 146.1 cubic inches. It develops 40 horsepower at 3,200 revolutions per minute.
