A farewell rally and concert given at the St. Andrew's Church Hall, Kowloon last evening in hon- our of the Rev. and Mrs. G. R. Lindsay, who are leaving the Colony on Saturday after seven years' service in. Kowloon.

A large number of parishioners assembled in the Hall to bid the vicar farewell. A concert ranged by the numerous organisa- tions aliated to the church, was given and during the interval eulogistic reference was made

of the work done by Rev. Mr. Lind say during his sojourn in the Co- lony.

Mr. J. II. Hunt, vicar's warden, said that Hongkong was in many rospects a very sad place, it was a place of good byes. He spoke of how many who left the Colony were often entirely forgotten, while others left some of them- selves behind bit of themselves printed on the hearts of others. He mentioned that St. Andrew's would always remember the retir ing vicar.

There were many ways he could he remembered especially by his abounding enthusiasm in his work and the sympathetic way he con- ducted his services.

QUEEN'S HALL NOT TO BE CLOSED.

MR. WILLIAM BOOSEY'S -STATEMENT.

I want to contradict expressly and immediately the statement which has been made that the Queen's Hall is going to be closed, Mr. William II. Boosey, of Messrs. Chappell & Company, told a Press. Association representative last month.
