END OF THE “GOODWILL" FLIGHT.
It is just over five weeks since four armed Chinese entered the house of Mr. C. E. Geddes, an old man who had retired from his position as head of a well-known Shanghai firm, and robbed him of Tools 8,000. They forced their way into the house on the night of March 7th, locked the Chinese ver- vants in a cupboard, tied Mr. Geddes' legs, and struck him about the face and head with a revolver until he signed cheques totalling Taels 8,000. The cheques were cashed the following morning, the marauders remaining all might taunting and threatening their victim. He was released in an exhausted condition After the cheques had been cashed.
