Bowls.

The usual competitions were well supported and keenly contested. The prizes were presented on the closing day, 2nd April, 1927.

A series of defeats at the begin ning of the League season was rather disheartening to the players,

but with better efforts in the last few games, the Club escaped being low-. est in the League table,

The Committee hope that a keen interest will be taken in the coming season by the younger players, whe will assist the Club to regain some of Its lost laurels.

Grounds,

The condition of the bowling green and tennis court are not al that could be desired, due to the spell of dry weather experienced dur. ing the past few months and the constant use inade of the greens and

courts.

One bowling green and one tennis court are closer and ender repair and the Ground Committee hope to have the others put into good play ing order before the season is far advanced. As stated above, the sitp of the old Club House is being trans- formed into a terraced approach to the pavilion with two wide short Blights of steps leading up to the main steps.

The sloping banks of the terrac ing will be laid out with plants and flowers and in time should give a pleasing and beautifying appearance to the surroundings.

Thanks are due to Mr. Geo. Dan- the general idea of the can, for scheme.

Mr. Dennys informed his Wor- ship that in view of the apology and an undertaking given by the de- to fendant firms' solicitors not use the same marks again, and also in view of the defendant firms having agreed to indemnify his clients for the goods they had sold under the mark before the case was taken up, he would ask his Worship to withdraw the case.

His Worship accordingly with drew the case.

The "Auraphan" trade mark is registered in the name of the Deutsche Gusglubicht-Aver-Gesell- schaft.

Cement pathways will be made from the main gate to the Club steps, both facing the grounds and road- ways, also along the back of the building and the ground at the sides laid out as flower beds. This Com-

ittee recommends to the now Com- mittee for consideration the erection

of a new main gateway in keeping with the general environment.

A wood shed for the storage of tennis gear, etc., has been built ut the far end of the ground, out of materials taken from the old Club House, and free of cost to the Club, the contractor taking over the old Club House in lieu of cash payment,'

Prizes.

The thinks of the Club are due to donors of the many handsome prizes: for the various competitions, and to thes, embers who contributed to the Prize Fund.

Pending a communication' from the Joint Societies, it is not pro- posed to issue an appeal locally for funds, but the Hon. Treasurer will be glad, notwithstanding, to' receive subscriptions.
