THE PRAYER BOOK.

NEW EDITION JUST ISSUED.

London, Mar. 23.

A new edition has been issued of the revised Prayer Book, con-- taining the changes made by the house of Bishops since the presen- tation of the book to the convoca- tions on February 7.

The main feature is a proface; which, appearing for the first time, declares, "We are living in a new world. It is ours if wo be true to the faith that is in us to seek and make it a better world." Also, "We do not dare to think: that the book of .common prayer: Atted to the seventeenth century can supply the want of the twen-. Meth."

Certain names of saints omitted from the calendar are reintroduc ed,

Crispin, including Saints Nicholas and Catherine.

The title of the book now reads, "The book of 1662, with additions and deviations approved in 1927." The word "permissive" is drop- ped. It is now decided no longer to print the Rubrics from the Prayer Book, which must be re- garded as superseded and modified by new Rubrics. Reuter,
