A VIKING SURVIVAL.-One of the few Norse festivals still celebrated in Great Britain is that of "Up-Hally-na", which is held each year at Lorwick, the capital of the Shetland Islands. At sunset, a band of "guisors" march in procession through the streets behind a specially-constructed Norse way galloy, which is burnt in the market place. Our photograph shows the galley manned by some of the "guisers." (Times.copyright),

REPLACES "MA."-Mrs. Dan Moody, wife of the now governor, of Texas who takes Ma" Ferguson's place is shown in the gown she wore · at her husband's inaugural ball at Austin.

RADIO AND TRAFFIC EVILS.-So. engrossed did Mary Phillips and Jessie Payne become in jazz from their motorcycle radio that Jossie drove down the wrong side of this New York street. Another traffic problema!

BOY EMPEROR.-Hauen Tung, dotlironed "boy emperor" of China has been seldom photographed. Here he is seen in Tientsin, gresting visiting foreign dignitaries. He is a

frail youth of 19.

PET PELICAN.-"Poter," potted policin at the London Zoo, is oftimes put to extremes to fill the wondrous beak of which the bard sang. He is pictured here stretching up- ward to the roof of his house for a dainty morsel an enter- prising photographer hung there.

NEW LIVERPOOL DOCKS--The Gladstono Dooks Systom, the istost addition to the 8 miles of docks which stretch in unbroken succession along the Liverpool bank of the Morsey, which is shortly to be prepared for uss by the floating of the great basine. Our photograph, shows the main dock from the top of the look. (Times copyright).
