MUDFORD MEETING.

TOWN COUNCIL SITS AT Y.M.C.A.

TO-MORROW'S INTERESTING

DEBATE.

The first meeting, after the elec tions, of the Mudford Town Coun- cilis to be held to-morrow evening in the Counell Chamber (tho Y.M.C.A. Lounge) under the chair- manship of His Worship the Mayor (Ald. the Rev. J. Horace Johnaton).

In the new Council, the Progrós-. sive Party is five strong, the Secta- Hat Party four strong, and the Mo- derate Party three strong, the Mo- derates holding the balance.

The four issues which formied the platform for the election will be the principal business of the august assembly, and a lively de- bate is certain.

Interesting side;issues are likely to arise from the minutes of the previous meeting, and it is under- stood that the, Socialist, Mr., Coun- allfor Fred Munn, has some very pertinent (or importinent) quca- tions to ask the Chief Constable.

Mrs. Councillor Sapsed (Gerty the Girl with the Gamp) with her latest Paris creation ali ecmplete,: will be largely in evidence, and identification parades would bo necessary to determine with ac- curacy other members of the rivul political factions.

The members of the other parties, however, are prong to raise objections if Mr. Munn arrives with a supply of mackerel concealed in his plus- fours.

Rats, bats in the belfry, and other animals addicted to the habit, of appearing before the eyes on unexpected occasions, will receive the consideration of the Council. --From our Own Correspondent,
