INTERPÓRT TEAM, TO PLAY.

ONLY FOUR SOCCER MATCHES TO-MORROW..

[By "Wanderer."]

The match between the Hong- and the kong Interport team Combined Chinese cleven is the

only important fixture for to morrow, and it is to be hoped that the Chinese will field a

much

stronger combination than they did against the United Services on Wednesday.

A fully representative China team drawn from the players at present at their disposal would not include eight of the men who turned out against the Services, and unless this is remedied the match will prove a failure from a playing standpoint.

ISAN PEDRO CHANNEL.

SWUM BY AMERICAN MOTHER.

Wilmington, Cal., Feb. 6.--Mrs. Myrtle Huddleston swam the San Pedro channel to-day.

She became the first woman to Women negotiate the channel. ad attempted the swim on two previous occasions. She swam the 22 miles waterway separating Santa Catalina Island from the California mainland in 20 hours and 42 minutes, which was two hoirs less then Henry F. Sullivan made it and six houry and 20 minutes more than the time in which George Young and three other men made it.

Mra, Huddleston finished in a state of virtual exhaustion, having

mechanicall during the last quarter of a mile in delirium and sobbing hyster cally.

Apparently there are differences between the powers-that-be in the Chinese sphere of suncer, but it is to be hoped that a little give and take will put matters straight.

Hongkong will turn out at full strength, and the chances are that a comfortable victory will accrue.

The League fixtures are appeng-half milea from the mainland. Miss Schoemmel quit when her convoy developed engine trouble. Mrs. Stager quit after covering two and a half miles.
