EGYPTIAN COTTON.»

RESTRICTION DECLARED

UNJUSTIFIED.

Cairo, Jan. 31. Interviewed-by Router, Mr. WIL liam Howarth, a very large usar of Egyptain cotton, and Vice Presi dent of the British Master Cotton Spinners Federation, sald that the master cotton spinners considered the proposed restriction of the cultivated area justilled if it were solely intended to raise the price level. It was unwise since Egypt's interests were best served by pro ducing as much cotton as possible at an economic price. He declar- ed that sakellaridis from the state domains was just as good as- manrad cotton, of which only 16,000 bales were producible in 1927. It was better for yarn but not as good as sakollaridis for twist purposes. Egypt could and must got bhek to her original quali ty, sukellaridis and must diacon- inne milking pillon with the seed. -Router.
