LIGHT MORNING, --

The Kowloon Magistrato had an exceptionally light morning's work today, when only two new dally cases were brought up for adjudi- eaton, the first being that of n would-be suicida, and the other coming, under the Banishment

Ordinance.

When a middle-aged Chinese woman was charged with altempt ing to commit suicide by jumping' into the harbour at Kowloon, Inspector Ogg asked. for a remand while the police made efforts to locate her husband.

The case was adjourned until

Saturday.

Returning from banishment two years before the completion of his term, Chinese was sent to prison for six months' with hard, labour and ordered to receive 20 strokes of the birch or undergo a further three months if unfit to be flogged.
