MOTOR DRIVER FINED.
EUROPEAN COLLIDES WITH
REPAIR VAN.
At the Kowloon Magistracy yes- terday ternoon, the driver of the repnir vin belonging to the China Motor Bus Company was charged before Mr. T. W. Ainsworth with dangerous driving and was fined $10.
The defendant was alleged by Mr. G. S. Rodgers, to have swerved across Chatham Road, 01 the afternoon of January, 2, without any afgnal-to passing traffic. The van whon Arst seen by the complainant was stationary on the left hand.alde of the Road outside. the premises of the China Motor Bus Company.
The driver suddenly and with- out warning turned to enter tho garage, but Mr. Rodgers who was riding motor cycle in the direc tion of Hunghom was about ta pass, the vehicle when It turned. Mr. Rodgers swerved to the right to avoid a collision but struck the front wheel. Complainant was, thrown into the gutter and alightly injured. Witness' Was hour and sounded his horn three travelling at about 18 miles on

Mr. 1. C. Curwood corroborated the complainant's evidence. Wit ness said that the speed of his cycle, which was following Mr. Rodgers about thirty yarda be hind, was 20 miles per hour.
The defendant denied that he was to blame for the accident, Ha said that the cycllat "came dish- Ing into the car.”
