THE now B. M. W. touring model R.42, represents the latest and most progressive form of motor cyclo engineering.
In designing the R 42. model, it has been the endeavour of the makers to procure with all possible ex- " pedienco, every step of technical progress and every item of riding experience for the benefit of motor cyclists who demand the latest and best.
The most important improvements as compared to former

Ford Travels 41 Miles
on Gallon of Gasoline.
We hear a great deal these days about motor car mileage per gallon of gasoline. Dealers and salesmen as well as owners refer to mileage records and the economy of operation as important points in favor of certain cars.
i.
We wish to call attention to recent tests that prove conclusively that the Ford car can deliver unusually high mileage, that this is one of the many recognized points of superiority in the Ford car.
^
Mr. W. T. Evans of Wren, Georgia, U.S.A. in a competition with 25 other Ford cars made a run of 41 miles on one gallon of gasoline. He drove a stand- ard touring car with no extra appliances of any kind, and ordinary gasoline was used. The measurement was the American gallon and not the larger Imperial gallon.
•
During a recent test he'd at Dublin, fifteen Fords took part. The winner made 39.9 miles per gallon and the average for the fifteen cars entered in the contest was 30.9 miles.
