The following appointment was made by the Admiralty on Nov. 8: Capt. W. N. Custance, to) Yarmouth; in command (Nov, 20). The selection is announced of Paymaster-Commander G. Thomison, O.E.E., lately studying at the secretaries' course at, Ports- mouth, to be resident naval officer at Shanghai, in succession to Paymáster-Commander J. M. L.
