STOKER HOWARD · CHALLENGES A. B. EWIN.
[By "Wanderer."]
And now I have received a letter from Stoker Ta" Howard. Very brief and to the point. He meets P. O. Francis in'a ten rounds contest at the City Hall on Satur- day, but is keen for more fights.
The object of Howard's. epistle is to point out that if Able Sea- man Ewin cannot make the welter- weight limit, he must be a midle, and, after a terse comment, he aske me to draw Ewin's attention to an open challenge recently issued to all middleweights in Hongkong. He how challenges Ewin, to fifteen rounds contest for the Middleweight Championship of the Colony.
MORRIS,
At the end of his letter, Howard refers to Morris's acceptance of his previous challenge. Morris
has expressed willingness to meet Howard at catchweights.

I had the pleasure of seeing Howard in training the other day and very quickly came to the con- clusion that he is much too good for any material we have in the Colony at his own weight. Fast, faster than a good. many lighter men... he punches straight and carries a sleeping-dosa in either
hand.
RETURNING TO THE FOLD..
Two men likely to butt into the picture in local boxing circles shortly are in the new HM.5. Durban commission." The Durban is returning to Hongkong in the course of the next week or two.
Jimmy Britt is one. He will be remembered by most old residents. One of his memorable fights here was that with Neal, of Kowloon Docks, whom he knocked out after a fierce encounter.
The other is Percy Lake, brother of the famous Bugler Lake. Percy Lake mot A. B. Chadwick in the final of the Imporial Services Championship this year, and lost after one of the finest scraps of the tournament. Chadwick is one of the best men at his weight in England to-day, and Lake may worthy therefore be hailed as a addition to the lightweight ranks in Hongkong.
