The wooden steamship Sai Chou was put up for sale at the Chinn Auction Rooms, by Mr. E. V. M. R. de Sousa yesterday afternoon and after desultory bidding, was with- drawn, the reserve price not being reached.

The vessel was put up as she now lies at Shumshuipo," her dimensions being length 241 fect, beam 83 feet, depth. 11% feet, with a gross tonnage of 1,186.

There was a fair attendance when the sale opened at $15,000, with bids of $500 acceptable, Raises were made at long inter- vals, until the sum of $18,000 was reached, when no further bids be- ing forthcoming, the lot was with drawn.
