London, 7th September-The picturesque Herefordshire village of Burghill is aghast at a tragedy revealed in the Burghill Court. In: their country residence the Misses Elinor Woodhouse (60) and May Woodhouse (57) sisters, were found. shot dead in the morning.
Both were known for their charity and support of district benefactions, and they had earned the name in Burghlll of the Ladies Bountiful."
Charles Houghton, their butler (40) has been arrested and charged with their murder:

About a hundred thousand Jains Special Reserves Golden now visit these Palitana temples every year, and for the last forty years Rs. 15,000 (£1,125) a vene has been paid by the Jain com munity to the State as a pilgrim tax to cover the expenses incured by Palitana in consequence of the influx of pilgrima.. The basis of the payment was roughly a payment of two rupees (83.) for each pilgrim: In more recent years the number of pilgrims has increased enorm ously, and the State Durbar sought a revision of the annual payment.
