Witness had on board the junk

at the time of seizure two coats. His Lordship then raised the point of technical "robbery" in that the man was taken from his property- rather than the property from the man. After submission of certain points by the Crown; His Lordship accepted the basis of the first. charge.

Violently Assaulted.

In reply to questions by His Lordship, witness stated although he himself was not roughly hand- led, others on board were violently' assaulted. At the time of the seizure he thought there, were two other bonts sheltering at Yam O. but none of these were attack- ed as far as he knew, and his own craft was without firearms.

Other witnesses were called and gave corroborative evidence up to the time of romoval from the junk. These were confined in the fore- hold and when the hatch

was raised for the purpose of giving the prisoners air, their captors were plainly see. From this it was possible to identify the first accused.

The case was then adjourned until this afternoon.
