The wounded from the upper river expedition to Wanhsien arrived in Hankow Friday. They came down from 'lchang in the Indo-China 8.8. Klangwo and should have come into port, on Thursday night. A jury which was called at the Criminal Sessions, this morning,

to decide whether a Chinese named Wu Kun was in a fit mental atate to stand his trial for murder,, returned a verdict in the negative and the prisoner was ordered to be detained during His Majesty's pleasure.

The case was one in which the prisoner, who lived at 13, Rutter Street, throw a pot of boiling water over some sleeping people, one of whom subsequently died, and he was committed to stand his trial on a charge of murder. The Crown was represented by Mr. H. K. Holmes, and Mr. Somerset Fitzroy defended. ・・
