RECENT BREAK IN SOUTH CHINA A. Á.

In order to bring about a com- promise between the South China Athletic Association and the new Chinese Athletic Association in their dispute, Sir Shou-son Chow and the Hon. Dr. R. H. Kotowall called a meeting of representatives of the two bodies yesterday after- goon:

The President of the Chinese Athletic Association, formed, it will be remembered by members who withdrow from the S. C. A. A., prosented a letter which was to the effect that as they had already established a now organisation and had joined the Hongkong Football League, it was now too late for. them to dissolve, the new associn- tion and re-join the old one.

After some persuasion by Sir Shou-son and Dr. Kotewall, the newly formed party agreed to con- sult their committee with a view to re-amalgamation, on the under- standing that their original de- mands would be considered, with Ja view of having them either

wholly or partially accepted..

The representatives who met yesterday, it is understood, had no power to agree to any definite settlement with the 8. C. A. A., without consultation with their committee..
