It is a pearance in Hongkong.. patented méchanical process known as "Branda."und can be employed to great advantage in the work of scouring and removing_tartar, be- sides the general cleaning of marine boilers, smoke tubes, etc...

The importance of the cleanliness of the interior of boilers is long. since recognised, but hitherto, the process has involved tedious, labour by hand. An explanatory booklet issued by the local patentees fully explains the advantages of the new Bystem, and we advise those who are interested to apply for a copy from the Hongkong and....South China Mechanical Boiler Chipping and Cleaning Company, of 12, Ped- der Street.

The system is not only invaluable for interior boiler work, but an adjunct apparatus consisting of an an arrangement of multiple chip- ping hammers ensures efficiency and speed for cleaning big surfacés of plates. It is also very useful for use on small surfaces on which tartar, rust or incrustations are particularly hard.

The system has been fully tested by French Shipping Companies, arid it is interesting to note that the Compagnie des Messageries Maritimes have adopted it for all of their vessels.
