TAIPO BRIDGE.
WORK OF RECONSTRUCTION.
For many months now there has been a signboard at the com mencement of the road to Taipo that the road Is closed after 6.30 p.m., although recently the time has been altered to an hour and a half later, and it is well-known to the motoring fraternity that the reason for this is because the bridge at Talpo is out of commis- sion ut night. It will be remem- bered that this bridge was practi- cally awept away by a devore storm, and up to date it has not been replaced, except by a tem- porary structure, which cannot be
used at night.

BOTVED'S FLIGHT.
HIS RECORD HOME-GOING.
Owing to much other news of world importance at the time full justice has never been done in the newspapers of the Far East to the very fine achievement of the Danish aviator Commander Botved, who flew from Tokyo to Copenhagen in the record flying time of 12 tying hours.

It will remembered that during the first stage of the flight from Copenhagen to Tokyo, via Bang-1 kok, the aviator encountered bad weather and was also handicapped by engine trouble and other He eventually reached Tokyo after a protracted journey. It was on the flight, home to Copenhagen, via Siberia, that he established a record and fully justified his reputation as a skill- ed and daring airman.
