DOGS AND TRAFFIC DANGERS.
TRAINING TO AVOID
MOTORSAL
It is remarkable how well dogs look after themselves on the roads. Comparativoly fow aro run over and killed. Yet along almost all roads there is now i continual stream of motor traffic. Fow of the dogs we seo about overy day have had special pains takan with them to train thoin to knap out of the way of the cars and lorries. It is only their own good sense that saves them from disaster. It is, however, foolish to tako valuable dogs on to the roads until you can trust them to look out for the traffic and giyo it a wide berth.

BRIGHT PARTS WITHOUT CLEANING:
While it is generally recognized that the prosenco, of, nickel- plated lamps and detail fittings onhances the appearance of a car, it cannot bo denied that, on account of the easily tarnishable nature of ordinary nickel plating, considerable tabour must be re gularly expanded in maintaining such surfaces.

Interosting facta regarding a new plating process, employing ohromium in place of nickol, formed the subject of a paper which was read recently before the Electroplators and Deposi-] tors' Tochnical Society at a meeting held at Northampton.
Chromium plating, it was stat- ed, is considerably harder than nickel, and offers grouter resis'- ance to atmospheric corrosion, at the same time affording a brighter polish than is obtained with or dinary nickel plating.
It was stated also that the only form of cleaning required in tho ments are more varied than those sisted of rubbing with a moist case of chromium plating eas- of human beings. Some will be-cloth.
