Mr. Keegan was riding an A. J. S. machine, No. 122, solo, when at this point, at about noon, he met a moving tram car. He turned to the left to pass it, but the oncoming car caught his off side handle bar and he was thrown off very violently, striking the tramcar, while it was still moving, sustain- ing nasty injuries.

First aid was soon available, Mr, B. A. Hyder and Mr. A. A. Rum Jahn, of the St. John's Ambulance Brigade, being quickly on the spot, followed by Sergt. Roberts of the Hongkong Police. It was found that Mr. Keegan had sustained 4 fractured knee cap, a fracture of the leg about four or five inches below the knee and another frac- ture a few inches above the ankle.

Later an ambulance from" the Central Fire Station conveyed Mr. Keegan to the Government Civil Hospital. The damaged motor cycle was taken in hand. by the Dragon Motor Garage Company.
