FLYER. Here is Lieutenant John A. Macready and his wife just after he completed his flight at McCook Field, Dayton, Ohio, which is believed to set a new altitude record for airplanes. Examination of the instru- ments on the plane indicate this fearless pilot reached an altitude of 41,000 feet or nearly 2000 feet higher than the mark set by a French aviator. At one time during the fight the temperature was 78 degrees below zera.

NUNS "EXPELLED FROM MEXICO Forty-seven nuns of the Sisters of the Visitation recently arrived in Laredo, Texas, after being expelled from Mexico City under the new anti-foreign edict of the Calles government. They are en route to their home convent. This is the fourth time in ten years that their Mexican convent has been closed.
