Agecroft Hall, an historic Eliza- bethan house on the banks of the Irwell at Pendlebury, (Lancs.), is to be taken to the United States.
The purchaser is an American architect who is believed to be a descendant of the Langleys, the first family to live in the house.
It will be carefully demolished, each portion numbered, and re- erected in Virginia.
Quadrangular in design, Age- croft Hall is entered by an arch- way, which leads to a courtyard it is a famous example of the black and white, wood and plas ter Elizabethan mansion.
