THE LUCKY NUMBER

The final day of the Racos proper drew a large orowd to Happy Valley to-day. Weather conditions were ideal, the Bun shining brightly, and this was particularly gratifying to the fair sox, who turned out in large num- bors in their smartest wear for! Ladies Day. Another feature of to-day's card is the Champions Race, for honours in which there was much rivalry between com- peting stabios, whilst the big sweep on this event made the day one of considerable interest to speculators.

The first two days' racing showed Sir Paul Chater's stable at the head of the list, with five third, firsta, four seconds and a Mr. R. M. Austin being next with four firsta. Mossrs. Dyer and Boith also had the good .re-] cord of threo firsts, three seconds and a third. Of the jockeys, Mr. Maitland beaded the list with six firsts, three seconds and a third, followed by Mr. McBain with four firsts and six seconde.

The band of the East Surreys was again in attendance.
