Brenda Wins Third Cruiser Race.
The course for the third cruiser championship race, mailed yesterday, was round Cheung Chau from the Yacht Club, a distance of 25 milos. The race started at 10.30 and the
first boat to finish crossed the line at a little after 6 p.m., the majority coming in after 6 pm. It was a long day's sail in which all sorts of weather and luck visited the various competitors. Eventually Brenda won on corrected time, with a Cigüle second and Coquette third.
The cutter from HM.S. Titania, sailed by Commander F. Ratsay, whe actually first on corrected time, but of course, she does not come into the championship. However, le sailed a very good race and deserves. commendation for the fine show she
put up.

R.A. v. Navy.
A very interesting sailing event took place on Saturday between teams representing the Navy and the R.A. Mess. Six boats took part, it being entirely a private event, Lieut. Colonel Coates
La Cigale headed north
and went up to Peng Chau. Coquette went north but outside the islands, while the others hung about just outside the Dumbell island waiting for the wind to revive. Brenda was farthest south and went fur- ther to look for the wind. She proved to be lucky and made up an ecormous amount of time when she caught south wind. La Cigale was unable to sail and his was by that time between Kau-i-place in the R.A. team was taken chau and. Stonecutters, with by Sub-Lt. Vereker. On Saturday Coquette midway between and the morning the course was from the rest of the boats to the southward, R.A. Pier at Lyemun out to a mark with the exception of Mist, which in Junk Bay and back again, when was back near Peng Chau.
the boats came in in the following order: Thecla (Sub-Lt. Vereker,
Army) 7 pts., Adele (Lt.-Col. H. B. Gunn, Army) 6 pts,, Boojum (Surg. Lt. Brown, Navy) (Commander Ratsey, Navy) 3 pts.. 4 pts., Joan Pierrette (Rev. Scott, Navy) 2 pts., Lola (Capt. Cardew, Army) 1 pt. Army 13 pts., Navyý 9,

Nearing harbour limits again an cast wind was picked up. La Cigale benefited first, Coquelie next and the remainder at intervals. How ever, it proved very flaky and on the whole the boats which kept near Stonecutters were best off In middle harbour there were an- noying calms and catpaws but In the afternoon the nearing the finish the wind started at the same point and wis freshened and a finish in good round the Lyamun Beacon and style was made possible, La out to á mark in Junk Bay and Cigale was first home, followed by back, two rounds being sailed.
