The following is the list of local

The Buildings Or- dinance Office was, however, in- volved in very considerable amount of additional work as a ro ault of this amendment. The numerous applications for permis slon to reconstruct property, and the appeals arising therefrom, en- tailed considerable amount of, time and labour.

Mr. Creasy states:The ber of plan's submitted during 1921 shows a decrease in the number of proposed new houses, and it may, therefore, be anticipated that, at the end of 1925, there will be a fall in the number of new buildings completed

The policy of requiring houses, when undergoing, reconstruction, to be built at a higher level where necessary in order to provide for the future raising of certain low- lying areas in Hongkong and Kow- loon has been continued.

There were no collapses of any) magnitude. Several minor accl- dents occurred, generally due, to carelessness on the part of con- tractors or their foremen,, with heavy rains as contributory cause.
