A picturesque wedding was solemnized at St. Joseph's Church, Shanghai, recently, the Hay. Father MacDonald S. J. officiating, when Miss May Victoria Kimmins, daughtor of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Kimmins, of Shanghai, became the bride of Mr. Heary Formby Newton, of Bhanghai, son of Mr. Thomas Newton and the late Mrs. Nowton of Dovercourt, EsHCX, The happy couple aso seen with Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Kimmins (parents.of the bridel, Mrs. J. 9. Hay (matron-of-honour), Miss Mury Whitehead (flower girl), Mr. H. Rogers (best man); and Mossrs N. Deardon and G. Wilkinson fushore).
This interesting group was taken in Feking when Mr. and Mrs. Shawn, and the Denishawn Dancers were in the capitul. It depicts a re-union of exponents of the arts of East and West and patrons of art. Following the recent walking match at Shanghai, Mr. G. H. Stitt, manager of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, entertained at his residence the Irish walkers, pacore, trainers, members of the walking committes, etc., to a tiffin party. Our photograph whows Mr. Stitt seated in the middle of the front row, with Mr. Young (first to reach the winning post, one of the Irish team on his right, and Mr. T. C. O'Neill who was second in the match and the first of the individual contestants to reach the winning post, on Mr. Stitt's left. Next to Mr. T. C. O'Neill is his brother Mr. W. O'Neill (one of the Irish team, who came in sixth). Next to Mr. Young, the winner, is Mr. D. O'Neill (ong of the Irish team who secured third place in the match).

The members' stand at the Race Course was 'orowded during the presentation of the prizes to the winners in the International Walking, Match at Shan- ghai. Mr. L. M. ff. Boytagh, the President of the International Walking Committee, introduced Mme. de Rossi, wife of the Senior Consul, who charmingly prosented the prizes. This year's walk roused more interest than any before, 66 competitore entering, including those who walked in the eight "national- teams which competed. The French team come first, the English second, and the Scottish third. The Irish won moat of the individual honours, taking the first, second, third, and sixth places, though an accident prevented their team winning
