No negotia tions were opened and they merely took bearings on various ques tions, for example the position of the Soviet Government in relation to Britain and France on the question of debts and the Wrangel fleet; on Russia's entry into the League of Nations and the possibility of commercial agreements.

Le Petit Parisian understands that Chicherin, who has gone to the south of France expects shortly to make a longer stay in Paris when official pourparlers will be opened in regard to the debt pro- blem-Reuter.
