Day in and day out, in all parts of the world, Dodge Brothers Motor Car serves its owners faithfully and at low cost.

This is because Dodge Brothers have consistently built their product more stauncbly than strict manufactur- ing practice requires.

Emplying only the finest materials, they have insisted upon an exceptional margin of excess strength in every part, that takes a major strain. These cars are made by Dodge Brothers at Detroit and at Ontario, Canada.

Completing all but the last lap of their trip from Los Angeles to New York across the whole continent-in an eighteen Loot long motor hoat. two Americans, John Edwin Hong and Frank S. Wilton, not to montion Spy-Wapate, their dog, arrived recently in Montreal and stayed for a day or two before proceeding to New York.

The entire distance was covered by water with the exception of one portaro

of 400 miles from Celllo Falls, Washington to Fort Benton, Montana. Their boat the Transcontinental" is an 18-foot craft, & feat

abeam, and powered with two four horse power Evinrude outboard motors. They left Astoria, Oregon, May 20, after having their beat shipped up the const from Los Angeles. The route was via the Columbia River from its mouth to Celilo Falls where the boat was loaded into a box car and sent on 400 miles to Fort Benton where the journey was resumed down the Missouri River for 2,280 miles into the Mississippi to St. Louis, then up the Mississippi to the Illinois River as far as Ot tawa, Illinois; through the Illinois and Michigan Canal to Joliet, Illinois, and through the Chicage Drainage Canal inte Lake Michigan. From here the voyage was plain salling to Montreal, where they landed at the Canadian Pacific Pier No. 8, having moored their boat alongside the "Montcalm. Mosara.

Hoag and Wilton followed in reverse direction the course of the early explorers, Columbus, Hendryk Hudson, Champlain, Cartier and La Salle. Thede, mishaps commenced early when, fo the Columbia River they ran afoul of a sunken leg which tore the stern out of thele boot After this laadventure, which they finally weathered safely, they had

nd comparatively no bad luck, except for the tornadoes, heavy storms and rinky ráns down little-known rapids, which might naturally be expected.

Their adventure is unique, the only attempt previously made being about 18 years ago when a similar expedition ended at Blamarch, North Dakota, after traversing the same route. Then, however, the adven tarars were as held up by adverse conditions that thoy, yema quartakım by winter and their bank maa tumbed in the m
