You will recall that at your roquest wo purchased during August last year, two sets of Good- year Straight Side Balloon tirea for trial on our hire care of which we are oporating more than 50 at the present time.

Wo bave kept a very careful rooord of the performance of those.tires as we wished to compare their service with that of several makos of high pressure tires which had given us an average of about 10,000 miles per tire,

or the eight Goodyear Balicon tires origin- ally placed in service the first one to give out gave 38,122 miles, the second 35,666 miles, the third 38,042 miles, the fourth 37,631 miles and the re- maining four tires are still running on the cars they were originally mounted on and to date have done 43,118 miles.

Needless to say nè are more than satisfied with the result of those tests, and as a result we have decided to equip our fleet of hire cars through- out with these Straight Side Balloons. This change will of course require some time an we have a large number of high pressure clincher tires in servico which are still in good condition.

I may say for your fatisfaction that should the Balloon tires in general give the sato service that these eight test tires have given we shall be able to rodupe our tire costs by more than 80%
