Taken in the Public Gardens, this picture shows the height of the water along the Soochow Creek side of tho promenade during the recent storm. The typhoon signal was up for over thirty-six hours
which time Shanghal experienced high winds which uprcoted troes and blow down shop signs, and which caused the river to overflow on the forcahore.
