A Pakoi correspondent, writlog under date of June 2nd, says
About an hour before dark yas torday a gang of over one hundred bandits, attacked and raided throo villagos six milos to the oast of Pakho killed five country volunteers, and badly wounded a number of others, who were brought into the Mission Hospit-- ala here for treatment. A number of the villagers were kidnapp. ed, including six women. Pulling up on the roadside further on at the outskirts of the small town of Kotak, 'where over 300 soldiers wore drilling, it was evident that they also wore unaware what. was happening a little over two miles away. According to the reports of the villagers, tho bandits approached the locality in the guise of soldiers with flags flying and bugles sounding.
