Alsatian Puppy

This little three-months-old Alsatian puppy rejoices in the lengthy name of "Baron von Kottler." Ho was the winner of the first prize in the Alsatian Puppy class at the Shanghai« Dog Show. His owner is Mr. H. Schoenborr.

This pretty picture won for Mr. H. Y. Tseu the second prize in the competition 'hold this your by the St. John's Amateur Photographic Club, Shanghai. There is a certain charm in native oraft of which one doos not tire. This picture is enough to make our thoughts fly to the. delights of houseboating in Spring when the oreak of the yuloh becomes as swoot music in the:

Many University of California members gathered at the residence of Mr. Frank J.Ravon in Shanghai recently, to view the solid silver replica of the famous Alter of Heaven at Poking, which the California alumni in China are presenting Lo the University at Berkeley, as a debating trophy.

Empire Day at Shanghai.

Shanghai Boy Scouts and Girl Guides paraded at the British Consulate to honour Empire Day. A Northern Lawn Tennis Festival.

Due to the visit of the three American tennis stars, and the participation of Mr. Kumages in their exhibitions, Shanghai devotees saw the best tennis over displayed there. The exhibitions concluded with singles and doubles matches at the Cricket Club, with fifteen hundred spectators on the sidelines, as shown in our photographs.
