A wonderful sight arranged here for the bonafit of the Prince of Wales consisted of a war dance by 6,000 picked Zulus in war paint and feathered headdresses, creating a weird and impressive scene. With characteristic. steps, cries and gyrations they moved with raised shields, creating an impenetrable, barrage of metal and muscle, emitting demonical yulla, to" within a yard of the royal party and terminated the outburst with dirge-like singing, the waiving "of knölkerries and flored stamping accompanied by the plaintive singing of 200 young girls.-Router.!.

After leaving Eshowe the Royal train had rounding a sharp curve of a long descent from the top of the hills when two of the front wheels of one of rear coaches left the ralls. The train was travelling slowly and stopped almost simultaneously. No damage was done though, the delay has necessitated minor modifications of the programme.-Router
