Pilots' Tribute to Colleague.

What is claimed to botho world's first aerial funeral took place, amid impressive scenes a fow wooks ago.

Bodios in coffins have been

| brought from the Continent in aeroplanes for burial-in London and other places, but this ovent, organised by his fellow pilot in honour of the late Mr. Goorge Powell, one of the bast known British commercial pilots, was a complete funeral procession. by air, in which a big saloon, plane was converted in a flower- ladon aerial bearse.

It was piloted by Mr. Woolly Dod, a colleague of Mr. Powell. who died from head injurios sustained in a motor-car accident.

The air funeral started from the London Terminal Aerodromo, Croydon, and Major Brackley, Air Superintendent of Imperial Airways, accompanied the coffin.
