The prominent airman Major Mezergues has died of wounds at Fhz. Though previously wounded at the outset of the operations, and barely recovered, he was permitted at his own request to rejoin bis squadron. He had just been appointed a Commander of the Legion of Honour-Renter.

A supplementary report of the recent British Trade Union Delega- tion to Russia has been published declaring that no evidence has been found that the notorious Zinovieff letter ever existed, describing the letter as undoubtedly a forgery and demanding that the labour party co-operate with the foreign office to completely to investigate the mat- ter-Reuter.

Washington, May 16. The Interstate Commerce Commission announces that it has ordered an investigation into the financing of the Chicago-Milwaukee- St. Paul railroad, which recently went into receivership Routere American Service.

The Hague, May, 17. The Permanent Court's ruling in connection with the Danzig letter-boxes gives the opinion that no ruling was made in connection with the disputed point by the Danzig High Commissioner; but the, Polish postal service of the port is entitled to instal letter boxes out- side its premises, though the service is not reserved for Polish officials and authorities but is for the public use-Reuter.
