LEAGUE TABLES..

By the death of the Superior General, the Rev. Father S. Ta- mayo, Provincial of the Spanish, Dominican Fathers in the Far Enst becomes Superior General of; the Order until the new election, next year. The election of the new Superior should take place in 1928, but it is advanced in ease,i like the present, of the Superior's death before the completion of twelve years.

Father Tamayo is now in his 58th year. He was elected Pro- (vincial of the Dominican Fathers in the Far East in 1917 with resid- ence in Manila, and has been (many times in Hongkong on his way to visit the Missions or the houses that this vast Province has in America, Spain and Romne.

Immense Jurisdiction.

The Province, Known in the Order as the Province of Suntisi- mo Rosario de Filipinas, has) three flourishing missions in Tonkin with four Bishops, threel Vicariates in Fukien with three Bishops, the Apostolic Prefecture Lof: Formosa and the Apostolic Prefecture in Shikoku, Japan. All these Missions with innumer- able Churches, Colleges and Orphanages depend entirely for their material support from, the Spanish Dominican Procuration No. 2 Seymour Road, Hongkong.

The present staff in charge of the Missions

consist of 150 Spanish, 7 German,

and 6 American Dominican Fathers. Over 200 native Priests are help- ing the European Fathers, 50 Spanish and Filipino Sisters are in charge of the Colleges, in Taipeh, Foochow and Matsuyama, and seven Orphanages in the Pro- vince of Fukien and one in Formosa. The girls received in those eight orghanages amount to about 7,000 every year. Besides that, there are another 3,000 to 4,000 received in the Orphanages of Tonkin in charge of the native Sisters belonging to the Third Order of St. Dominic.
