Shanghai recently saw the cherry blossoms in full bloom, and no more appropriate time could have been chosen for the delightful garden party that was held at the Mitsui Bussan Kaisha staff residence, 701 Rue Lafayette. Hundreds of Japanese residents of Shanghai wandered about the spacious grounds and admired the trees laden with the blossoms. Flaga and bunting and several boothe added more colour to the proceedings. On the open-air stage soon in the distance, before which gathered a large crowd, Japanese dancers gave a graceful exhibition of their art.

Here we have a pair of sport kings, Bill Tilden, tennis ace, and Walter Hagon, golfing celebrity. They are depicted at St. Augustine, Fla., where Tilden' is showing the golfer some of the fine points of the net pastime, which Hagen seems greatly interested in learning.

Remarkable scenes were witne ged in the Chinese city at Shanghai on a recent Sunday, when a monster memorial service to the late Dr. Sun Yat-sen was held at the Recreation Ground, West Gato, followed by a big demonstration through the streets. Thousands of people attended the service and marched in columns through the streets. This picture shows the thousands of scrolls testifying to the late Dr.Sun's great name in China. These scrolls were hung in a big matched rooted in the Recreation Ground. Dr. Sun's picture may be soon among the flowers at the far end of the shed

Avenue Edward VII is rapidly becoming one of Shanghai's most important thorough- fares. Fine new buildings have been erected all the way from the Bund to Thibet Road, one of the largest and most important of the new structures being the Tolograph Building (second from right). The immense glass roof of the "Shanghai Times" building is indicated by the Arrow. The new structure in process of erection on the left is the now International Saving Society building.
