THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY.

ANNIVERSARY AND PUBLIO LECTURE,

: At the last Wednesday's publlo mooling of the Hongkong Lodgo, of the Thaosophical Sooloty, the second anniversary of the Lodgo was colobrated, and a looture was delivered on "What Theosophy Is."

The mooting was opened by the Vice-President, who touched in briof the work dana by the Lodge during the year under review, the BUCCORs of which was largely glue | to the dovoled efforts of the President. At his request the Hon Secretary furnishod interost ing details of the year's activities. Two new Lodges wore astablish- od at Shanghai, and one contre at the Amoy Univeralty hand. od by two University Pro- fasrors. The number of mombors of the Lodge had doubled during, the year. Besides other moetings, there wore hold 50 public lectures, the average attendance at which 31. The Library had boon grostly increased and Jwas baing used extensively.

The China Publication Fund bad; published Roveral books in the Chineso language, of which larger quantities wore distributed. The year showed a stondy growth of the Thoosophical movement in Hongkong and outports and gave the best hopes for the future. Thoro was every hope of the Ostablishment of a "China Sec-1 tion" of the World Theosophical Society during the coming year.
