NEW QUADRUPLE PACT.
London, March 3..
The Morning Post says that the Cabinet is considering pro- posals for a new pact wherein Britain, France, Germany and Bel gium are included. Progress has been made to the extent that the Dominions have been already consulted.
It in stated that Australia and New Zealand have cordfully approved the proposal, while it is hoped that Herr Herzog and Mr. Mackenzie King will also come into line, particularly as the proposed pact has none of the vague dangers inherent to the Geneva protocol.
The proposed pact offers a gunrantes for the security of the channel ports against any threat from the other side of the Rhine. Germany is ready to join in a guarantee. It appears that the pro- posed pact is somewhat in the nature of a substitute for the Geneva Protocol, objection to several articles of which has been taken by the Cabinet.-Reuter.
