HOW THE STATIC REDUCER COILBJARE ARRANGED.

The entire "roducor" consiste of three coils set at an angle of 55 degrees, intercopting the trans- mitted waves before they outbr the receiver. For the broadcast- ing range, the cells have 66 turns of No. 24 wire and are wound os a 3 1-2 inch tube. A tap is takon at the 330 turn of each coil.

The aerial lead-in is brought to this middle tap, on the first coil. The start of the coil is led to the middle top of the second coil and the start of the second coil goes! to the middle tap of the third.

Threo colls aro enough for the ordinary regenerative, ruceiver with two stagon of audio amplification. For D largor recolver, like a superbeterodyno from four to six coils may be used.; The terminals of all the coils: are joined and grounded, whilo the start of the last coil is taken to the anterna post of the receiver, and the end of the last: coll is brought to the ground post.

That is all. Except that care should be takon to set the coils at 55 degress from the base. This can be done by attaching ongli to a base by means of metal braokots: hont to this angle.

If thoro is a porcentible reduc- tion in signal strength, reduce the number of coils. Or experiment with this layout until you got tho boat parsible combination with your receiver.
