CANTON MAN'S DEATH.

A GREAT CHRISTIAN

WORKER.

The death took place on Sunday. evening of Dr. Lau Tung-shang, president of the Canton Y.M C.A. and a well-known dentist of Tai Sun Kal.

Canton Dr. Lau, says the Gazette, had been for many years many na outstanding lender in Rocial and moral movements. He was one of the leaders In raising the standards of the dental pro- fession in Canton. His own office was a model of good faste in modern equipment and cleanliness.

Over, seventeen years ago Dr. Lau mot a small group of progres~| sive Christian men and organized the Canton Young Men's Christian Association. Through seventeen years he had stood behind this charter organization, first as a member, afterwards as a worker and a member of the Board of devoted Directors. Under his leadership the Y.M.C.A. work has!

many steadily advanced. years he had been an active mem- ber of the Yan Tealkai 'church, During the last few years he had aerved as superintendent of the Sunday School.

Dr. Lau was a cultured scholar who loved the beat in China's past and believed in and worked for a nobler and greater future.
