A branch of the English Sponk ing Union, an almost worldwide organization to promoto friendly- relations between the English speaking peoples, has been formed in Manila and is to bo placed on a thoroughly sound and 'active' basis BOON says tho Manila Bulletin. The new "branch was brought into. being at a meeting hold at the offices of the Governor General recently, when a largà number of both Americans and Britishorn interested in the project were present. Governor. Gonoral Wood, the officers and others all expressed a keen in- torost in the movement and made known their willingness to exert much effort to make the Manila branch of the Union one of the most active of the entire organisa- tion.
