COMMODORE GRACE HONOURED.

E YACHT. OLUB DINNER.

Thoro was a particularly happy gathering at the Royal Hongkong Yacht Club last evening, a num- įber of fellow' yachtsmen meeting at a dinner in honour of Com- modore H. E. Grace who is shortly [leaving the Colony. The gymn- slum was decorated with all kinds of bunting and as the company sat down a Commodore's pennant was broken out over the table, Capt. Arthur, the Commodore of the Club presided and was sup- ported by Sir Claud Severn, Mr. E. W. Carpenter (Vice-Commo- doro) and others. An excellent) repast was provided and at a later stage the evening made merry with song.

The loyal toast - having been honoured Capt. Arthur proposed the health and prosperity of Com- modore Grace. In so doing he re- marked on the way in which the members appreciated the. honour of having the Commodore with them. The whole time he had beon in the Colony he had been a pillar of strength to the Yacht Club and although he had been associated with many sports cluba of the Colony he thought the Yacht Club had been hia favourite (Applause). As a member of the committee his services and advice had bean most valuable and they would all regret his departure vory much. He had been an ex- ceptionally keen yachteman and In addition to a good winner · had always been a good loser (Ap-| plause). In conclusion ho said It was his pleasure to ask Com- modore Grace to accept
